On This Day - Mission Statement
On This Day, our focus is self-awareness. We are losing our youth in our inner cities at an alarming rate. We are losing them to crime, the hope of being prosperous, and hopelessness. We are watching our communities become decimated in front of our eyes, and we feel helpless to do anything about it.
On This Day is a movement unlike no other. In a society that we have given so much to its prosperity, it is time to get ours. Not what we feel White America owes us, it is what we owe ourselves.
On this Day is a brand that we will sport proudly to show our solidarity - our pride to who we are - "Americans" who happen to be Black.

About Me
Now that you know what On This Day is about, let me tell you about me.
My name is Darrell Bell. The pictures you see here depict all the different lives I have lived.
As you can see, we might not be as different as you may think.
The hardest story you will ever tell is one about yourself.

Trust me – the hardest thing I did was getting off of drugs. I was hooked on drugs for five years and I can tell you - self-esteem went out the window, sense of humanity was lost - I was just surviving.

I was a smart guy, so you might ask - what in the world happened? What happened was this: I let those who gave up influence me. I let society define what I was capable of doing because I am Black. We have tried it their way, why don't we try it our way.

This is the first of its kind - a book turning into a movement. The mission ofOn This Dayis to impress on other Black men and women that they are not alone.

Join On This Day as we set out to save our next generations.
In my generation we had the Million-Man March. On This Day, we are going to have 20 million following.
Let's show them the true power of street knowledge. Solidarity and Black Pride - ain't no stopping us now.
